We have expanded into Uganda!

We will continue to focus on Zanzibar and building our school there, but we have been in contact with an orphanage in Uganda for about 7 months, and felt called by the Holy Spirit to visit this past week.

The orphanage/school in Mityana, Uganda has 128 students, 68 of which are orphans. Their main need was to build a place for the orphans to sleep. While in Uganda, my brother organized and hosted a fundraiser with FIFA Collect and raised enough for us to complete the building of a sleeping dormitory!!
A few very generous people also donated enough for us to buy bunk beds and mattresses for the new dorm. AND A WATER TANK! Which is already installed!

The kids currently walk about half a mile each way to collect water, then carry it back in jugs. I participated in the water collection, and it was HARD work. I’m not sure how the orphans are so strong, because they only eat white rice and a soupy bean mix. The malnutrition in Africa is incomprehensible. The orphanage/school typically cannot afford meat, but over Easter we were able to fund a feast, including chickens and beef! The kids and teachers were so grateful! And the teenage boys were thrilled to kill and prepare the chickens. These kids have my whole heart. I got to know some of them really well, and I cried my eyes out when I left. BUT, we have some big ideas and plans this upcoming year for both our school in Zanzibar, and orphanage in Uganda!
Our project has been shown much favor, and I know we will be able to help in both Mityana, and Zanzibar. Please continue to pray for discernment, God’s favor, and that our passion for this project will grow!

Thank you endlessly for your support,
